Plant your roots

So, on Saturday we celebrated a birthday at this restaurant called Roots, which is situated in the Letamo Wildlife Estate which is in the Maropeng area. This place is off the hook awesome! I just LOVE beautiful places set in the middle of NOWHERE they seem to be even more amazing when the backdrop is literally all the true African landscape colours. Needless to say i started snapping away, running around like a chubby little 4 year old kid in a candy store. I was just so excited i could have passed out!

Take a look at some of the pics and hopefully they will entice you to go have a look for yourself.

“Forum Homini's restaurant, aptly named roots, has proved to be one of those fortuitous mutations that substantially advances humanity," Victor Strugo, South African food critic.

BIG Blue canvas of awesome...

So, who LOVES the sky? Blue, pink, purple, orange, black, grey, hazy, clear.... you can't keep up cause it's never the same. Now, i am by no means a professional photographer but i do like taking snap shots of  this big piece of awesome and i do count myself lucky everytime i get to witness a sunrise (sunsets are easy) That little, naughty, sneaky sun comes up before you have had enough time to wipe the sleep from your eyes and POOF its 12:00 noon.
So here are a few little personal attempts to trap the sky on some good old digital.

Balloonvine - WHAT?

So I thought a good way to introduce balloonvine to the blog world would be to actually inform you what the heck a balloon vine is, so you too can appreciate its awesomeness!
Balloon vine is a category 1 plan (declared weed) in South Africa, which makes it illegal to grow it anywhere in the country - oops! BUT once you see the pretty little gems that the actual "balloon" holds, you will understand why this alien plant is so freakin cool.
