Winter wonderland South African style

Good afternoon on this very chilly Tuesday. The cold front might have passed through Jozi yesterday, leaving people posting FB statuses of snow falling in different parts of the city.. much excitement and disbelief by all i can imagine! Lets just be honest now, nothing compares to the snow that landed in Dullstroon SLASH Dully's today as the cold-front made its way through the small town, up towards Limpopo. I received some photos from my friend Laura today of complete 'whiteness'. I could not believe it, total awesomeness and beyond!! Dully's is about a 3 hour trip outside of joburg so if your up for throwing a few snow balls, making snow angels, snow men or just seeing proper snow then take the trip. OH how i wish I wish a could make a snow cone right now.

Simple thought..

Day trip out of Jozi

A couple of weeks back we took a little drive out to Hartebeespoort. The weather was just too lovely to spend inside a shopping mall and Harties is a short drive away with plenty to do. We headed out and found ourselves at the arrows rest just before the bridge, where I tried 'clapping' a few golf balls and tried my hand at some good old archery. Both these activities are not as easy as i thought and some foot stomping might have happened when things don't go as planned, a toasted samie, a savannah and then off back to the busy buzz of Joburg. It was an awesome day and I encourage you to take a drive out that side of Jozi and see what this little gem has to offer.

The arrow rest is a great place to visit

Watch out for the angry geese that partol the driving range.

These are proper hunting bows
NOTE: no animals were injured during my attempt at archery

this would be the foot stomping moment.. the right of the
target has a magnet .. i am sure of it!
